NAAC 2021 Abstract Submission Instructions

The NAAC 2021 Organizing Committee welcomes and encourages all delegates to submit abstracts for both Oral and Poster presentations.

The abstract committee will review the abstracts and decide if they will be short-listed for Oral Free Paper or E-Poster Presentation. Submitted abstracts must have not been published or presented in other scientific platforms before June 1, 2021. The abstract committee reserves the right to revoke the prize awarded if there is any fraud or deception directly related to the pertinent material presented.

Abstracts submitted can be any of the following 7 categories:

  1. Basic Clinical Science

  2. Education / Training / Simulation

  3. Audit / Survey

  4. Novel Techniques

  5. Equipments / Innovations

  6. Quality Improvement / Assurance and Patient Safety

  7. Best Case Report / Series


These prizes shall be rewarded to the following categories: 

1. Oral Free Paper

  • Best Oral Free Paper Award – cash prize of RM 1000 and a certificate

  • First Runner-Up – cash prize of RM 500 and a certificate

  • Second Runner-Up – cash prize of RM 200 and a certificate

2. E-Poster Presentation

  • Best E-Poster Award – cash prize of RM 500 and a certificate.

  • First Runner-Up – cash prize of 300 and a certificate

  • Second Runner-Up -cash prize of 150 and a certificate


NAAC 2021 Abstract Submission Guidelines

  • All abstracts must be submitted in English only.

  • All abstracts can only be submitted through the online abstract submission form.

  • Abstract submitted must be airway related topics.

  • An individual can submit and present a maximum number of 2 abstracts, if the Presenting Author wishes to submit a 3rd abstract, he/she shall assign another registered author.

  • Previously presented abstracts will not be accepted.

  • Confirmed registration and payment will precede the acceptance of abstracts.

  • Top 5 Oral Free Paper presentations will be selected by the abstract committee.

  • Abstracts submitted by the acceptance deadline (March 1, 2021) will be notified via email to the author of the abstract review outcome by April 5, 2021.

  • Final preparation guidelines and presentation scheduling details for the accepted abstracts will be included in the notification email.

  • The abstract committee will review all the submitted abstracts and the decision made by the committee is final and no further appeal will be entertained.

  • Please note that top accepted abstracts may be considered for publication in the JUMMEC (Journal of Health and Translational Medicine – a Scopus indexed journal). The remaining abstracts will be published on the website following the congress.


NAAC 2021 Abstract Preparation and Format Guidelines

  • All abstracts must be written in English only.

  • Presentation Type is either Oral Free Paper or E-Poster.

  • Abstract category must be selected from the category list above.

  • The abstract must not exceed more than 1 page with minimum font size of 11pt and Arial as type of font.

  • The abstract must be submitted in an editable .docx (i.e. a .doc extension) file and not a .doc or .pdf file.

  • Ensure a 2cm margins all-round the abstract document.

  • The abstract title must be in bold, capitalized and not exceed more than 15 words.

  • For authors’ names, abbreviate the first name(s) of each author with the first letter, followed by the author’s last (family) name. For instance, Mark Lee will be written as M. Lee.

  • A maximum of 5 authors’ names can be listed on one abstract.

  • The Presenting Author’s name must be underlined.

  • Please follow these orders: the name of the department, university, city/town and country of all the authors. If the authors are from different departments/universities/corporations/companies, link each author with a superscript and the corresponding affiliation.

  • The body of the abstract must not exceed more than 300 words (excluding abstract title, authors and institutions)

  • Please follow 4-section abstract format for Research Report: objective(s), design and method(s), results and discussion/conclusion(s).

  • Please follow 4-section abstract format for Best Case Report/Series: introduction, case presentation, discussions and conclusion(s).

  • All abbreviations should be defined in the text at first use.

  • Do not use trade names for the drugs included.

  • Do not include references, tables, graphs, figures and illustrations in the abstracts submitted.

  • Please state and indicate if appropriate of any funding support or sponsorship offered to the research study.

  • The content and originality of a scientific research work are solely the responsibility of the author(s).
